Program overview

This postgraduate research program offers students the opportunity to conduct original research that expands knowledge in a specialized area of their choice within the Life Sciences.

The program provides advanced training in research methods, enabling students to apply their knowledge and skills as researchers, practitioners, and administrators across various fields of life sciences. This training will also assist them in securing employment in the healthcare and biopharmaceutical industries.

The MSc in Life Sciences is offered in collaboration with Lancaster University, UK. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will receive two certificates, recognizing them as graduates of both Sunway University and Lancaster University.

Entry Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences (e.g. Medical Biotech, Biomedicine, etc) or a related field; with minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent.

Research Methodology

Students will learn about current approaches to research design, data analysis and scientific writing. At the end of this module, candidates will be expected to formulate and submit a proposal for research in an area of their interest or specialisation. Candidates will also develop the necessary skills and knowledge to conduct research successfully.

Thesis

Production of thesis is based on students’ original research throughout the candidature. The MSc is awarded based on the successful completion of a thesis. The thesis should demonstrate proficiency, criticality and mastery in the subject or chosen area of research.

Entry requirements

Master's: a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Typically IELTS 6 or equivalent (TOEFL / PTE). Some universities offer a preparatory English program if you haven't reached the score yet.
