FAQ

Quick answers before you start

See all FAQs
  • It depends on the university, program, city and your lifestyle. Public universities are usually less expensive than private ones, and medical programs cost the most. Use our budget calculator for a rough estimate, then we'll confirm exact figures for the university you choose.

  • Requirements depend on the study level and program. Typically you need a high-school certificate (or equivalent) for foundation, diploma or bachelor's, and a bachelor's degree for a master's, plus transcripts, a valid passport and English proof where required. Programs such as medicine have additional requirements.

  • Most programs are taught in English and ask for proof such as IELTS, TOEFL or an accepted equivalent. If you don't have a certificate yet, many universities offer preparatory English programs or an internal test. We'll tell you what applies to your program.

  • It varies by university and application period. Once your file is complete, a conditional or full offer can take from a few days to several weeks, followed by the visa process. We recommend starting well before your intended intake.

  • After you receive an offer, your university applies for your student pass through EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services). This involves uploading documents and a medical check, after which an electronic visa approval letter (eVAL) is issued for travel and your student pass is endorsed in your passport after arrival. We guide you through each step.
