A Master of Arts in Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is a postgraduate program that focuses on providing educators with advanced knowledge and skills to effectively teach English as a second or foreign language to non-native speakers, covering areas such as language acquisition theory, curriculum development, instructional methodologies, assessment techniques, and cross-cultural communication, preparing graduates for careers in English language teaching and related fields.

Entry Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field with a CGPA of 2.50 and above from any institution of higher learning recognized by the Malaysian government OR other qualifications approved by the Senate of IUKL.

Multicultural & Multilingual Education, Methodology in TESOL, Postgraduate Research Methodology, Principles of Language Learning and Teaching, World Englishes, Assessment in the TESOL Classroom, Technologies in Language Teaching and Learning, Curriculum Development and Course Design, Project Paper

Electives (Choose 4 - 12 Credits)

Classroom Observation, Teaching Practice, Educational Management, Educational Statistics, Literature in English in the TESOL Classroom, Writing TESOL Materials, Educational Psychology

    Up to 30% coverage

    30% tuition fee reduction is available to international students arriving from conflict-affected countries. This discount carries no prerequisite conditions or academic benchmarks and will be automatically applied to the student's account upon enrollment.

    The student must maintain the required CGPA every semester to get the 50% discount

Entry requirements

Master's: a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Typically IELTS 6 or equivalent (TOEFL / PTE). Some universities offer a preparatory English program if you haven't reached the score yet.
