The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Engineering by Research is an advanced graduate program focused on conducting original research in a specific engineering field.
Students in this program work closely with faculty advisors to develop a research proposal and conduct independent research that contributes to the body of knowledge within their chosen engineering discipline.
Core components of this program include conducting extensive literature reviews, designing and executing experiments or simulations, analyzing data, and presenting findings in a dissertation.
Furthermore, students are expected to demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills throughout the program.
Upon completion of the program and successful defense of their dissertation, graduates are prepared for careers in academia, research institutions, industry, or government agencies, where they can make significant contributions to the advancement of engineering knowledge and practice.
Students who joined the Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering program at APU University Malaysia will have the option to apply for the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Under this Scheme, students will be able to get 2 Degree Certificates and transcripts upon graduation: 1 from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia, and 1 from De Montfort University (DMU), UK. please note this is optional and costs GBP 375 Per year. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75, or its equivalent qualification as accepted by the Senate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.75 can be accepted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related fields below a CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted, subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant fields.
​• Relevant professional accounting qualifications equivalent to a bachelor’s degree as accepted by the Senate.
Yemeni & Palestinian Student Discount
Up to 30% coverage
A 30% tuition fee discount is available to students from Yemen and Palestine, with no prerequisite conditions. This 30% deduction is applied annually and will be deducted from the tuition fee each year of study.
International Student Discount
Up to 30% coverage
Up to 30% tuition fee discount is available to any International students. To qualify for this discount, Applicants must present their official high school certificate upon application.
