Document checklist for applying to Malaysian universities

Requirements vary slightly by university, but these documents are needed in most cases.

Core documents

• A copy of your valid passport
• Your latest academic certificate and transcript
• Certified translations if documents are not in English
• An English-language certificate, if you have one
• A passport-style photo with a white background

For postgraduate study

• CV / résumé
• Statement of purpose or research proposal (for PhD)
• Reference letters where requested
